Parents and carers have been told when schools will be closed to pupils as teacher unions confirm strike days.
An updated information letter has been sent by Douglas Hutchison, Executive Director of Education to Glasgow's families to let them know that schools - depending on the sector - will be closed to pupils during January teacher strikes.
Tuesday 10 January 2023: All Primary schools, including ASL primary schools (Secondary schools open as normal)
Wednesday 11 January 2023: All secondary schools, including ASL secondary schools (Primary schools open as normal)
Monday 16 January 2023 - Primary and Secondary schools, including ASL schools.
The authority has been left with no option due to the uncertainty of how many teachers will report to work on the days of action.
The intention is for nursery classes and standalone nurseries to open as normal.
The education director has apologised to families for the situation that is outwith the council's control, and understands that making alternative arrangements so soon into the new term will be difficult for our families.
