Webcasting

Watch the webcast

Our strategic plan contains a commitment to broadcast our meetings on-line to improve accessibility to and openness of our decision making process.

Advice and guidance on data protection, copyright and use, storage etc issues associated with the live transmission of our meetings has been prepared and issued to elected members in the form of a pdf icon protocol for webcasting of Council meetings [30kb].

Webcasts of meetings will be available live and in archive format for 5 years after the meeting.  Council meetings are available from May 2017 and committee meetings from September 2018. View the webcasts here.

COVID19 update

Due to current Government advice the Council has implemented temporary decision-making arrangements to reduce the need for face-to-face meetings during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  As a result all Council, committee and Community Planning Partnership meetings have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.  Delegations to officers have been increased temporarily, with any decisions requiring approval by elected members being taken by the City Administration Committee, which is now meeting by video conference.

From June 2020 a limited number of other committees will be meeting remotely.  While there will be no live webcasts of these meetings, recordings will be available to view, normally within 1 day of the meeting.
