Development Sub-Group
The Development Sub-Group is one of four sub-groups established under the City Centre Task Force, playing a crucial role in shaping Glasgow's development agenda. Co-chaired by Bruce Patrick (Private Sector Chair) and Ben Wilson, Divisional Director for Development and Regeneration at Glasgow City Council's Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (Public Sector Chair), the group brings together key representatives from both the public and private sectors.
The subgroup acts as a bridge between the private sector's Development Forum and Glasgow City Council services. Insights and issues raised by private sector stakeholders at the Development Forum—chaired by Simon Walsh —are reported to the Development Subgroup for joint discussion.
This two-way dialogue ensures that the concerns of developers are heard and addressed by the right people.
With direct lines of communication to both the UK and Scottish Governments, the Development Subgroup provides a powerful platform for advocacy and action. Its primary aim is to identify and remove barriers to development, support active regeneration, and attract further investment into Glasgow's city centre.
