The Development Team brings together key services from across Glasgow City Council to provide a coordinated, proactive approach to supporting development in the city centre. The team includes representatives from planning, building standards, sustainability, economic development, City Property, communications, legal, and housing - ensuring all aspects of the development process are considered.
Issues raised through the Development Subgroup are discussed by the team, with a focus on identifying practical, deliverable solutions that remove barriers and enable development to progress. The team actively manages a portfolio of key sites across the city centre, working closely with developers and landowners to unlock their potential by identifying constraints, exploring opportunities, and facilitating engagement.
The team also leads on the Rapid Repairs Pilot Project, a collaborative initiative with the private sector aimed at tackling visible repairs in the built environment. This work is designed to improve the look and feel of the city centre, boosting its appeal to investors, businesses, and visitors alike.
