This is the list of documents available for the submission By Councillor Susan Aitken:- "Council welcomes the passage into law of the Social Care (Self Directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 and fully supports its aim of empowering people to decide how much ongoing control and responsibility they want over their own support arrangements. Council notes that Glasgow City Council has been piloting one form of self directed support for social care service-users, known as personalisation, since before this new legislation was drafted. Council is concerned, however, that as it is currently designed and implemented in Glasgow, personalisation does not fully meet the requirements of the Social Care (Self Directed Support) (Scotland) Act, and that the experiences of some service-users indicate serious flaws in the process. Council therefore instructs the Chief Executive to order an independent, external review of the design, implementation and effectiveness of personalisation in Glasgow, in light of the principles, intentions and requirements of the Act.".
