The poverty premium is a real experience for some low income consumers in Scotland, with indications this group could be facing undue financial detriment when paying for energy, telecoms, credit, loans and insurance. This, in turn, can affect the physical and mental health of low income consumers and seeking advice from Citizen's Advice Bureaux is one of the main routes for support chosen by those affected. Council therefore agrees to work across departments, with partners, business organisations as well as consumers directly to find ways to alleviate both poverty in Glasgow and the effect of poverty on consumer choice in the city."
