As such, Council calls upon the UK Government to abandon plans to invite Donald Trump on a state visit, and the Scottish Government to send a message to President Trump that he is not welcome in Scotland. Council further believes that the huge security costs of the trip should be paid instead to charities that promote peace and understanding, such as the Jo Cox Foundation.".
