Recycling Campaign 2022

'Stop Talking Rubbish' Campaign

Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability developed a campaign designed to raise the awareness around the importance of recycling correctly and to encourage people to start talking and thinking more about wasting less by recycling more. We want everyone to question why it is important to recycle, what happens after we put our recycling into the correct bin, and what is the impact if we don't.

The campaign was delivered with a TV advert, supported by radio, social media and web. Using an iconic chatty voiceover giving a call to arms to encourage Glaswegians to make more of an effort when it comes to recycling. This coupled with animations captured the viewer's attention concluding with 'Stop Talking Rubbish - Recycle for Glasgow.'

The tone and approach was friendly/humorous, but also provocative and informative. Our residents are used to being communicated with regarding Council Tax, or bin collection dates, school closures  and this is an opportunity to have fun whilst getting the message about recycling benefits out there. Whilst the subject matter is 'rubbish' the creative will be fun.

The message 'Stop Talking Rubbish' refers to the waste we generate when we don't recycle properly, striking a note of personal pride in our City by taking recycling seriously.
