The Hearing Impairment Inclusion Support Service is based at Hazelwood ASL School. The team work together with other schools, services and NHS partners to support children and young people with a hearing impairment across the city. Teachers are trained in the area of hearing impairment and work with pre-school children in the home or nursery and with pupils in primary and secondary schools.
Most children and young people in Glasgow who have a hearing impairment will attend their local mainstream school. There is a specialist provision at St Roch's primary School and St Roch's Secondary school where there is BSL provision.
