Background

A new memorial for babies and infants cremated at Daldowie or Linn Crematoria will be built in Glasgow city centre.

The national Infant Cremation Commission, chaired by Lord Bonomy, recommended that all Scottish authorities that carry out cremations should provide a memorial that can be accessed by bereaved parents, away from cemeteries and crematoria.

The council is working with parents to establish Glasgow's memorial near Glasgow Cathedral. The parents of any child cremated at either Daldowie or Linn, prior to March 2013, can choose to have their child's name included in the memorial.

You can submit your details using the Infant Memorial name request form.
