On Thursday 23 June 2022, Glasgow City Council took the decision to close St Stephen's RC Primary and St Kevin's ALN Primary and, to create a new combined, inclusive primary school.
As is required under the terms of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010, a 3 week period must be allowed from the date of a local authority's decision to proceed with closure, to allow for anyone to make a representation to Ministers requesting that the decision is called in - or not called in - by them. In terms of Glasgow City Council's decision, that period expires on 13 July 2022. A maximum of 5 weeks is then allowed for Ministers to consider the details of the consultation documents and representations - if any are received - and reach a decision on whether or not to call in the closure decision for further investigation. In this case, that period expires on 17 August 2022.
If you would like to make a representation to Scottish Ministers requesting them to call in a local authority decision to close a school then please send an e-mail, clearly setting out what you believe are grounds for the case to be called in, and providing specific evidence to support your request, to schoolclosure@gov.scot.
If you require any previous consultation documents please email the School Consultations mailbox - schoolconsultations@education.glasgow.gov.uk
