How to contact Planning

Contact us

If you wish to contact the planning service for advice on a proposal or about whether you need planning permission, which cannot be found on our website, please fill in and submit the Planning Enquiry Form.

If you wish to contact the development plan team for enquiries about planning policy and the development plan, please Email Development Plan.

If you wish to make a planning application, please use the online planning facility.  If you wish to comment on a planning application or check the status of a live application, please visit Online Planning.

Enquiries at the public counter

Paper applications, submissions and payments can be made at our main reception desk at 45 John Street, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

  • Please note the counter at 231 George Street is for appointments only and does not accommodate general enquiries.

Enquiries by phone

If you wish to speak to a planning officer please phone the Duty Officer between 9 am and 1 pm or alternatively phone 0141 287 8555.  

If you know who you wish to speak to please select Option 2 from the phone menu or complete a Planning Enquiry Form to request an appointment.

Please note that this phone will be staffed between 9.00 am  and 1.00 pm daily.
