Pride Month commemorates the Stonewall Riots that took place in New York in 1969, marking an historic turning point in the LGBTQ+ rights movement. Today, Pride Month serves as a celebration of LGBTQ+ identities, as well as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by LGBTQ+ communities across the world.
Glasgow City Council is committed to uplifting and supporting the city's LGBTQ+ community and progressing LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace.
We are thrilled to share that Glasgow City Council is taking part in the Glasgow Pride Parade on Saturday 15th July, and we would love for you to join us! This is a fantastic opportunity to show your support for the LGBTQ+ community and celebrate diversity and inclusion in our city. The parade will start at 12pm from Glasgow Green and end at George Square, where there will be live music, stalls, speeches and more!

We encourage you to wear bright coloured clothes, bring facepaints, glitter and whatever else makes you glow! We want to make a splash and show the world how proud we are of our LGBTQ+ colleagues, friends and family!
