Everyone has that one colleague who likes to overshare, but here at StC Payroll Giving, we think Sharing is Caring! This September, we are looking for people all over the UK to share their Payroll Giving stories. Donating to a charity you care about is a personal thing, and we want to hear from you as to why you LOVE Payroll Giving and why you LOVE your favourite charity.
You can do this by sending us a short video. You will need to include the charity's name and why you think donating via Payroll Giving is a great way to support them.
The winning storyteller will get the opportunity* to donate an additional £50 to their chosen charity on us! See our website for more information.
We want everyone to know that if they can support a charity - this is the way to do it, as your donation costs you less because of the tax relief. Charities need your support more than ever. You have until the 30th of September to send your story to mypayrollgiving@stcpayrollgiving.co.uk

Volunteer Glasgow is hosting an Inclusive Volunteering Fair at Glasgow City Chambers on 15 September, 10am-4pm.
Volunteer Glasgow
Established in 1970 their aim is to lead in making Glasgow the city where everyone is passionate about volunteering their skills, abilities, talents, experience and knowledge.
"Volunteering is a brilliant way of experiencing something completely different, having fun, learning, and making a positive contribution to the city and its people. Also, you won't believe the variety of things that you can do! "
Helen Taylor, Volunteering Development Co-ordinator, Volunteer Glasgow
Volunteering Fair
This event is aimed at people who are traditionally under-represented in volunteering, and/or who may experience barriers to accessing volunteering.
The event will run from 10am - 4pm in the Banqueting Hall at the City Chambers on 15 September and tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.
Volunteer Glasgow hope that this event will bring together people who may benefit from volunteering with different volunteering opportunity providers from across the city. Many of these provider organisations attended recent Inclusive Volunteering Event which focused on ways to incorporate an inclusive approach to recruiting and managing volunteers - who may have experienced barriers to volunteering in the past including refugees and asylum seekers; people with additional support needs; people who have been through the criminal justice system, and young people.
The Volunteering Fair will provide organisations with an opportunity to put their inclusive approach into action, and a chance for people to find out more about opportunities to volunteer and how to get involved.
Council's commitment to volunteering
We are committed to providing you with opportunities to volunteer that allow you to develop yourself and learn more about the city we all work for.
Our volunteering arrangements support this aim by assisting you to get involved in opportunities around the city.
There are many personal benefits to volunteering whether you take part with your work colleagues or get involved in something personal to you, it's a great way to contribute and learn more about the people of Glasgow and our local communities.
Not only that we'll give you up to a day's paid leave to do so.

A cherished Talbot Avenger Estate built in 1981 is the focal point of a new display at Riverside Museum called Car Sparks Memories. The single object display was inspired by the donor of the car, Angus Dougall, who lives with dementia. Seeing the transformative impact being reunited with the treasured Talbot had on Angus and his family after a 13-year gap led curator Neil Johnson-Symington to explore the idea of creating a display centred around the distinctive car.
Neil worked alongside Alzheimer Scotland, placing the Talbot Avenger in the context of other key social and cultural stimuli from the early 1980s to create a display aimed primarily at engaging those living with dementia.
Neil said: "It was a pleasure to work with Angus, his family and Alzheimer Scotland's Under-65s Men's Group to bring this display to life. We are indebted to Angus for his generous donation. I will never forget watching his reaction, the sheer joy on his face, on seeing the car again after so long. A car that transported him and his family around Scotland for so many years, on so many happy journeys and today has transported him back to those happy times.
"Although only a small display, Car Sparks Memories was designed to ignite memories from the years surrounding the production of this distinctive vehicle. Glasgow Life offers several programmes for those living with dementia. It's clear there is an appetite for even more ways of enhancing the experience of people living with dementia and those who care for them. We hope a visit to Riverside will provide a spark to relive cherished memories with those we cherish most."
The car was donated by Angus Dougall, who visited Riverside Museum, to see the prized Talbot Avenger Estate unveiled to the public with his wife Suzanne and daughter, STV presenter Rona Dougall.
Visitor feedback confirmed it would also appeal to the wider public, who often asked about seeing more recent cars from the late 20th century, which they could easily identify with.
The display turns back time to the second half of the 20th century, when motor-driven road travel was booming.

You are invited to take part in the Public Consultation of Glasgow's first Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES).
The strategy is a key part of the work to reduce CO2 emissions and our dependency on fossil fuels.
It details what we have been doing to identify areas across Glasgow that are potentially suitable for district heating and those areas that require building fabric improvements, such as insulation. The consultation begins on 18 August and closes on 25 September and responses to this will help us finalise the strategy.
The draft strategy is available to download using this link.
The survey can be completed by clicking this QR code.
To gather comments on the draft strategy we have placed a number of questions on our consultation page. These can be accessed using this link.
Should you have any issues downloading the draft strategy accessing the consultation page or any questions that you cannot submit via the consultation, please contact the team by email
