You can check your collection dates on our online calendar. If your food waste bin has been removed you can use our network of Public Recycling Points to recycle food.
If you have wheeled bins that you put at the kerbside to be emptied you can check the collection days by entering your address and/or postcode by clicking on the link on the right of this page then select the 'find address' button.
e.g. 231 George Street or G1 1RX
This will show the days and dates that your bins are due to be emptied. PDF's are available to download for residents who present their bin to the kerbside.
Bins must be placed on the kerbside for 7am on the scheduled day and it is helpful if the handles are facing the road.
After the bin has been emptied, it is the householder's responsibility to ensure that the bin is returned to their property.
If you live in a flat you can check the collection days by entering your address and/or postcode by clicking on the link on the right of this page then select the 'find address' button.
e.g. 231 George Street or G1 1RX
This will show the days and dates that your bins are due to be emptied.
The Bin Replacement Programme is investing in local neighbourhoods and has removed 48,000 small metal dustbins from the backcourts/common bin areas of flats and tenements and replaced them with larger wheeled bins free of charge. We have also providing 31,000 extra recycling bins.
The majority of flats have moved to an 8 day general waste collection and 16 day recycling collection. Please view our FAQs [660kb] which includes an explanation of this collection arrangement.
Some flats will not change to the new collection frequency due to local operational issues. Please check the collection calendar for further details.
