Carers Card

What is it?

The carers benefit card provides unpaid carers, including kinship carers, with access to a range of discounts on services and activities. You can read our pdf icon Carers Care Leaflet [682kb] for more information.

All carers over 18 years of age who live in Glasgow, who provide care for a Glasgow resident, are entitled to receive a carer's privilege card free of charge. Unpaid carers currently registered with one of Glasgow's six carer centres will automatically receive a carers privilege card. What are the benefits?

Some of the savings the carer's benefit card entitles you to includes:

  • a wide range of savings as part of Glasgow Life's concessionary discount scheme;
  • a 20% discount at a range of Encore cafes in spectacular Glasgow venues, including the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum;
  • 10% off Glasgow Flowers;
  • 20% off City Parking multi storey car parks
  • Cineworld Cinemas have agreed to give reduced rates to Carer's Privilege Card holders.  Upon presentation of a Carer's Privilege card, carers will be entitled to a ticket discount at IMAX, Renfrew St, and Parkhead Cineworld Cinemas. Carer's Privilege card holders will receive up to a maximum 20% discount on the regular admission price and is valid every day

I'm a carer - how do I get a card?

If you are currently registered as a carer then contact your local carer's centre and ask for a card.  If you are not known to carer services in Glasgow please complete a word icon Carers Self Assessment form [213kb]
