We regret that to help protect citizens and staff we have suspended face to face appointments at this moment.

Our online facilities are still available and these allow you to:

Housing Benefits and Council Tax Reduction

You can make an application for Housing Benefit or Council Tax reduction online through our application form

If you need to send documents to support your Council Tax Reduction or Housing Benefit application you can do this:

  • Online through our Housing Benefit/Council Tax Reduction contact form
  • By email as an attachment to
    • If you send a photograph of a document as an attachment please ensure the contents can be clearly read
  • By post to: Council Tax and Housing Benefit Service, PO Box 36, Glasgow, G1 1JE

When sending documents, please make sure you also provide the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your postal address
  • Your National Insurance number
  • Your contact telephone number
  • Your email address (where possible)

If you need help to complete the council tax reduction or housing benefit application form we can help.

  • Ill Health or Disability

You can contact us for advice or arrange a home visit.

  • Blind & Partially Sighted Customers

Documents such as housing benefit decision letters can also be issued in large text format for our sensory impaired customers. Please contact us to request this.

  • Deaf & Hard of Hearing Customers

The following service allows deaf BSL users to contact Scotland's public bodies:

  • War Pensioners & Ex-Service Personnel

The War Pensions Scheme is for ex-Service personnel whose injuries, wounds and illness arose prior to 6th April 2005.
The scheme also supports war widows and is administered by Veterans UK.
