TIDY OUT YOUR DESKTOP Any files you have saved in your My Documents and Desktop folders (or on shared drives) will follow you to your new device. If you have any files stored locally on your device, for example, within your Downloads folder then you must move this data to an EDRMS file location, or to a shared drive folder, as soon as possible - failure to do this will result in you losing information.
You need to delete any files you no longer need and store all your information in your shared area with EDRMS to comply with information security principles. The data stored locally on your machine is monitored and you should always follow our good practice guidelinesand transfer/save all files to your dedicated EDRMS file area, or your shared network drives, once you have finished working on them. Non-work related files should not be stored on the council IT network. Always make sure you are following the council's acceptable use ICT policy to keep your data safe and secure |
