BME Network Meetings

The BME Network has 4 meetings annually and will take place on the following dates:

BME Steering Group

BME Steering Group meets every month, if anyone wishes to join the Steering Group or if you have any suggestions, please let us know at BMENetwork@glasgow.gov.uk.

Launch of Unison Year of Black Workers 1^st June 2023

The Year of Black Workers is a campaign launched by Unison in 2021 to tackle racism and improve the working conditions and opportunities for Black workers in the UK. The aim is to raise awareness, share best practice and mobilise support to address the structural and institutional racism that Black workers face in the workplace and beyond.

This event will take place on Thursday, 1^st June 2023, starting with a drinks reception at 18.00 hrs.  This celebratory event will showcase the very positive contributions made to ensure a more egalitarian and inclusive nation, dismissing stereotypes, enacting change for a more cohesive and fair society.

The dress code for the event is business/traditional dress.

Glasgow Centre for Population Health Event 12^th June 2023 

A webinar event on "A public health approach to incorporating anti-racism and structural discrimination in tackling racial and ethnic health disparities"  is taking place on 12^th June 2023.
